Park your Tiny Home 30mins outside Goulburn in 500 beautiful bush acres, a wildlife reserve & Permaculture designed farm under new management.
The Sanctuary’s a rugged & beautiful timeless land of ~500 acres. 2.5 hrs from Sydney & 1.5 from Canberra. 30 Minutes from Goulburn & 20mins off the Hume Highway. Features three valleys, 90% bush with a rich biodiversity of native fauna & flora.
Permanent springs & small wetlands, main valley floor is an open uplands floodplain, with native grasses & herbs, and scattered timber.
Our wildlife includes wallabies, wombats, kangaroos, echidnas, goannas, water dragons, & lots of birdlife including Lyrebirds. The only farm lifestock currently is a handful of mountain ponies & foals, with small numbers of alpacas, sheep, goats & poultry to follow later as the Permaculture farming gets working again. There are fences fixed, replaced and constructed, & I start the building program of workshops, farm shed & shelters, so anyone wanting to learn about farming & bush living will have plenty to be involved in.
The Sanctuary’s ~500acres consists of 4 endangered remnant ecosystems, a high biodiversity particulary birdlife, and on two boundaries adjoins several thousand acres of rugged environmental reserve.
Ecotourism via YouCamp cross subsidises the development and operation of The Sanctuary, and in turn gives our campers & short-term visitors the opportunity to share its remote quiet beauty & high biodiversity, or get up and close to our mountain ponies.
Tiny housers with long term aspirations, would need to share or have a good overlap with the values, goals, mission & vision of The Sanctuary, as it’s not just a great ecotourist destination with 5 star visitor satisfaction on YouCamp, but on the path to be a working Permaculture designed farm dedicated to doing research, education & training on social & environmental sustainability, including Permaculture design, catchment management, sustainable communities, regenerative agriculture, renewable energy, appropriate technologies and open source ecology technologies.
We welcome Rainbow families, ASD families, & anyone with disabilities, provided you have or bring adequate support technologies and/or people.
Must be completely self-sufficient. Spring water available. 4 weeks rent deposit, 3 months trial period. Long term preferred. Mature aged tenants welcome.
If you’re after a back-to-basics camping holiday or just time-out for a night, close to Sydney, Wollongong & Canberra in a beautiful peaceful bush/farm environment, you won’t regret booking a visit.
